MaPY45 for SSEAYP

The 45th Malaysian Participating Youth (MaPY) for The Ship Southeast Asian & Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) is an youth program that gathers 300 young leaders across Southeast Asia to promote cultural understanding. As the Malaysian representative, we need to nail that first impression.

Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth

SSEAYP is an annual youth program organised by the Cabinet Office of Japan and the governments of 11 Southeast Asian countries to promote friendship and mutual understanding. After careful application & selection process by the Youth and Sports Ministry of Malaysia, 27 young leaders were selected to make up the Malaysian contingent.

Introducting MaPY45

There are a lot of elements that goes into introducing a contingent, one of it is none than a corporate introduction video to formally introduce the team. As part of the requirement by the program is to fulfil a pre-departure project as well as a project upon program completion, we are humbled to film their entire experience with the indigenous village of Sungai Buloh, while opening the eyes of other participants to the roots and origins of Malaysia.

“You & Me” Music Video

Malaysia is a melting pot of diverse culture, food and people. To tie all things together, we present these elements through a music video that emphasise the friendship shared between the team while preserving the richness Malaysia has to offer, crafted and presented in a light upbeat song written by the team.

SSEAYP Run Teaser Videos

To wrap up the entire program, a series of marketing videos are introduced which aimed to increase awareness and participation of the indigenous community. Needless to say, this entire project had been challenging at times but yet fulfilling especially working with younger children in directing and filming.
